Financial Giving at Atlanta City Church

Giving of monetary tithes and offerings at Atlanta City Church has always been about obedience to God. It is the natural thankful response of giving back to God a portion of what God provides for us.

In Malachi 3:10, God says, “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.”

According to the Old Testament, a tithe is ten percent given back to God before any other obligations are considered.
The Bible teaches that 100 percent of all that we have comes from God and is completely His. He asks us to bring 10 percent of what He as entrusted to our management to the church, the place we receive our spiritual guidance and covering.  An offering is an additional amount above the tithe, usually given as evidence of further gratitude for blessings received. In His generosity, He provides for us to keep 90 percent.

In addition to financial gifts, certainly God also wants us to give our time, spiritual gifts, talents and energy, as an offering to Him.

Atlanta City Church Giving Options

Atlanta City Church is pleased to offer several convenient, secure giving methods. Consider taking advantage of these options as you tithe.

1
. Sunday Services
A time for giving has been incorporated into each of ACC’s weekly worship services so you may share in this important aspect of worship. Also, if you happen to be serving in a ministry on Sundays during service you can still pay your tithe by dropping your tithe envelope into one of the tithe boxes located around the inside of the church.

2
. Giving By Mail
For your convenience, you also have the option of sending in your tithe by mail to the church offices. Enclose your check payable to Atlanta City Church in a secure envelope, apply first class postage, and drop it in the mail.

How to Ensure Proper Recording of Tithes and Offerings

Atlanta City Church collects all of its donations and deposits them immediately into either the General Fund, which is the Church’s operations budget, or into the Specials Fund, if the donation has been designated for a specific purpose.

A Specials Fund designation must already exist or be established by Church leadership to qualify as a charitable contribution for tax reporting purposes.
Note: Checks (even those to designated Specials Funds) should be made payable to “Atlanta City Church” unless directed otherwise.

Whether donating cash or by check, please follow these simple instructions:
1. Place your donation in an offering envelope provided by the church—write your full name and address legibly on the outside of the envelope. Envelopes are in the back pocket of the sanctuary chairs.

2. Please fill in the amount and the category on the envelope face—or your donation will be assumed a General Fund donation.

Contribution Statements

By January 31st of the next calendar year, a household cumulative contribution statement should be mailed to the household address of record.
