From Ordinary to Great!

Atlanta City Church has many opportunities for anyone to make a difference in the lives of children. The old idea that children’s ministry is “people hanging around babysitting” is just that, an old idea. CM3 is on a "Quest for God" learning how to "Make Truth Stick" all while "Changing the Course of a Generation!" The children’s ministry here at ACC has a big vision and that vision is a revolutionary way to influence, teach and develop the way our children see their Heavenly Father. It’s time to rethink children’s ministry and open our eyes to all the possibilities. Ultimately, it's ordinary people used by an extraordinary God that really make a difference in the lives of children.

Let us take you through an acrostic that might help you determine if you are the type of person who can care for children. It's H.E.A.R.T.:

The "H" is for Hands. Hands open before God. Are your hands open saying, "Father, these are ordinary hands, but I want You to use them in this life to touch the lives of children"?

Next is Experience.Through children's ministry, you can discover your life mission. Have you had others point out abilities or gifts that would help you minister to children?

Availability is also a key factor. Are you willing to be used by God in a way that you never thought you could be? You've been blessed in order to be a blessing in the lives of others. That's ultimately the purpose and the path of life.

You'll probably be Reluctant on some level. Just think about Moses. He had five good reasons why he didn't think he would be God's man for the moment, but God said, "You are." Then there was Peter. Jesus reminded him three different times to shepherd his sheep. People who are hesitant are sometimes the best candidates.

Lastly, be Teachable. Training opportunities are available for all those that become part of the CM3 team. 

It's takes courage to follow what God has placed in your HEART but that's the very strength that takes you from ordinary to great.
